Feng shui bedroom

April 11th, 2010

Here are some Feng Shui tips for your bedroom:

1) According to Feng Shui, bedroom is a space where the soul regenerates. Therefore it is considered to be the most sacred room. A perfect balance of yin (good) and yang (bad) is necessary.

2) Keeping your bed in line with your door can drain out all your energy. This will make you feel tensed and stressful and can also create health problems.

3) Do not keep a mirror facing your bed. If you have no option but to keep a mirror in front of your bed, cover it with a cloth before sleeping.

4) You should never keep you working desk or computer in your bedroom. The energy behind work and rest are opposite to each other and thus incompatible to each other. If you have no option but to keep your laptop or computer in the bedroom, separate the two with a Feng Shui element. Feng Shui elements are items that have a strong power to balance power.

5) A good Feng Shui bedroom also allows the harmonious flow of sensual energy. This energy is destroyed by magnetic waves. Therefore it is important not to keep computers and television in your room.

6) To paint your bedroom walls, choose Feng Shui colours. As far as the bedroom is considered skin colours are called the Feng Shui colours. This can range from beige, white, cream and brown. Choose a skin colour that will best suit your home decor.

7) Do not leave your bedroom cluttered. Avoid storing things that is of no use. Such things store in bad energy. A clean room eases the flow of positive energy.

Gardens can relax or energize you, depending on their design. Balance your landscape’s energy flow to ensure it will be comfortable and harmonious.

Yin and yang describe the two opposing forces that act on qi. Yin is passive; yang is aggressive. This is the goal of balance to achieve in your garden.

Feng shui is the discipline of bringing balanced qi to your life, including home and garden. Translated, it means “wind and water,” two forces that have a great impact on Earth. They are considered part of the cosmic energy that the Chinese believe is in everything. Wind and water carved canyons, eroded mountains, determined locations of cities and dictate whether soil will be rich enough to support life.

Learning the terminology and concepts of feng shui can help one understand this discipline. Read all about it HERE.

Good bedroom feng shui

March 23rd, 2009

One of the important room to take note in our house feng shui is the bedroom. The bedroom is the focal point in the marriage relationship and here are some factors to take note of :

  • The master bedroom should be located in the southwest corner of the home.
  • Locating the master bath near the master bedroom should be discouraged. If unavoidable, keep bathroom doors and toilet lid closed.
  • Remove mirrors from the headboard.
  • Position the bed away from overhead ceiling fans.
  • Make liberal use of the romantic colors of red and pink. Avoid black and green.
  • Refrain from pointing the bed in the direction of the entrance doors such that when lying down, the feet are directed toward the door.
  • Remove aquariums, fish bowls and rock fountains.
  • Attempt to remove the television from the bedroom, or place in a cabinet/armoire that can be closed when not in use.
  • Pink crystals, mallards or any knick knack (in pairs) are welcomed.
  • Avoid tones that are either overly masculine or overly feminine.

Some rules to good house feng shui

March 16th, 2009

Here are some interesting and simple rules to improve your house feng shui:

1. Door rules

  • Avoid trees outside, they stop the flow of qi.
  • Don’t sit with a door behind you, concentration will go (if you must, close the door and qi will flow).

2. Bedroom rules

  • Accident-prone? Sleep in a bed with brass or other metal frame.
  • Squabbles with your partner? Put a red rug down, or a red table lamp, to negate the room’s bad effects.

3. Kitchen rules

  • Don’t put the stove right next to the sink, this creates blood-pressure problems. Make sure they are at least 30 centimetres apart.
  • Avoid an island with a stove. Food is affected by negative qi resulting in health problems.
  • Don’t buy a house with a kitchen in the centre. It causes qi disruption and frequent illness.

February 9th, 2009

The basis to having good house feng shui is to balance one’s environment so that we are living in harmony with the elements of feng shui. In feng shui, it is believed that everything in the environment is imbued with movement and emits energy or Qi.

The 5  elements are :

Metal
Wood
Water
Fire

House Feng Shui

February 2nd, 2009

The feng shui principle uses wind (feng) and water (shui) to enhance prosperity, general well-being and good health.

Contrary to popular belief, feng shui is more than mere guidance to redecorate a home or office, and it’s not a religion based on superstitions.

For centuries, the Chinese enhance their house feng shui by examining the flow of  “Qi” or energies through the house and enhance the flow through modifications of the layout and orientation of the house.

Good house feng shui is achieved by having the right orientation, correct energies flow and appropriate feng shui colors that allows the inhabitant to live in harmony with the environment.

It’s an entire philosophy based on improving one’s environment and creating the harmony needed to lead a rich, healthy, and peaceful life.

Beside the orientation of the house, feng shui products can also be displayed around the house as feng shui cures to counter bad feng shui.

Displaying feng shui products in auspicious or power spots can also activate and improve feng shui in the home.

The art of feng shui is not an exclusive one and anybody can benefit from it. Feng shui is all about living a good life. You need to have the balance. You need to have the peace. And feng shui can give you this.
